More about me:I was born in a small Midwest town, on "The Banks of the Wabash River".Dad was an "Old Time Preacher man" a Pentecostal Minister. We had a storefront Church in Bluffton, In. and had a growing congregation.
Soon after i was born a Church was built & "The Word" began to touch friends & neighbor's. Revivals and many were Healed in Jesus Name.My goodness the people that i can name that helped babysit me as i was the baby of the Church. The Baylog family, the Harshman girls, and Wall Sisters, and many evangelists wives.I Wish i could remember them all. I can remember Sis Scottie Johnson, as she almost got a parking ticket and talked the officer into not giving her one. I remember Sis Charlotte, Sis Nila being with us. Others that made an impression on my young life.
Faith, Hope and Praising God in Song & Worship, was my life. I & my Older Brother Gene, singing along :)
Seems i was always singing @ School, Church Choirs, Youth camps, General Conference Choirs, wherever we went to visit or to Minister. What else can you do growing up where most of the time you are either singing along with the church members or listening to Daddy preach?
I was shy as a teenager, in the city of La Porte, In. standing in front of hundreds of people at Youth rallies & Round-ups where all cities in your district met each month or as time allowed. I was usually asked to sing "Specials" as we called the songs at that time. Since i was the Pastor's daughter and not many other "teens" were in attendance from our church that wished to get up there and sing..lolSo, as a good pk's daughter, i did what God and my daddy asked me to do.
Now I'm older i still get nervous, but as my Dear Dad always told me (I can still hear his voice in the back of my mind) saying; "don't sing for me, but "Sing for the Lord" & i do at the Church i attend. www.ALCnorwich.com
My Pastor Ren Rutledge is an accomplished musician, & will accompany me in singing, which sounds better as we harmonize. He plays the keyboard & other instruments & often tells of being a one man band yrs ago as he was growing up in his father's church.. lol Playing piano, organ, guitar, drums, Trumpet, Trombone, and what ever else he could play without running out of feet, hands, arms. hehehWhat a site that must have been.
You will notice i will use a lot of pics of cats,:) God & Animals will love unconditionally. When i retired from the Telephone Company i was at a loss, seems as if i had just gone through a divorce after 30 plus years. Smile..
I had a Stray Mama Cat that was eating in my garage, and then she moved her family in. Mama Cat took care of herself and her kittens very well. I had 2 of my own inside, Kiki and Boo. So, i became a cat lover. Also owned many dogs, but cats captured my heart. Watching the new kittens in my garage grow up, brought me through the time of retirement. Paper wads and strings were their favorite things besides boxes and bags to hide in.
My life was filled with many losses, but God has made me a stronger person-- through it ALL. Read & Obey: Acts 2:37-41
Oh the Name of Jesus! No Other Name i know that i can call upon in the time of trouble and be saved, or safe!America, the only one that can help us is *J E S U S*
